Description

Betty's Lodge is an early to mid-19th century lodge built as part of the St. Ives Estate, originally associated with St. Ives Mansion House. Constructed from hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof, the lodge is single-storied and displays a symmetrical facade in a T-shape. The front features a semi-octagonal projection with two-centred arched windows, each containing Y-tracery on three sides. A pointed-arched doorway is located on the side. The rear block contains a similar doorway flanking the projection, along with two arched windows set within the side walls. The hipped roof is tripartite at the front and overhangs, supported by wooden posts. An ashlar stack is centrally positioned. The lodge presents a good example of a building retaining its original window configuration.
