Description
The ice house at Great Wood Middle Farm, also known as Faweather, is a structure likely dating from the 18th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and is partly set into the ground, utilizing the slope of the hill. The east gable features a doorway with monolithic jambs. The roof is made of earth and slates arranged at various angles.
Inside, the ice house has a long barrel vault, with an angled shaft cut into the roof on the left side.
