Description

St. Andrews Villas, comprising numbers 6 to 20 (even), is a group of High Victorian Gothic style back-to-back houses dating from approximately 1870 to 1880. The properties include numbers 94 to 110 (even) on Preston Street. They are constructed of sandstone to resemble brick and feature two storeys with a three-storey stepped gable flanking break. The windows are pointed arch, single or coupled. The frontages facing Preston Road have more elaborate detailing, including pinnacles surmounting the gables. Enclosed gabled porches are set into the angles of the breaks. This represents an unusual and early example of this architectural style within Bradford.
