Description

A late 18th and early 19th century former coach house and cottages, situated in a fold to the east of numbers 46 and 48 on the High Street in Idle. The buildings are arranged around a partly cobbled yard in an L-shaped block. They are constructed of sandstone "brick," with number 6 having a pebbledashed finish and stone slate roofs. Numbers 4 and 5 have two windows each, or one window each, with square mullioned casements. The doorways are plain. Numbers 6 and 7 were altered in the mid-19th century, incorporating two-light sash windows. Earlier square mullioned windows are located to the south-west, overlooking Well Fold. The building is included on the list for its group value.
