Description

Town Well Cottages, dating from around 1800, are likely alterations to an earlier farm building. These cottages form a pair that flank the south-east entrance to Well Fold, which is a group of farm buildings originating from the 17th century. The cottages are two and three stories high due to the sloping site. They feature two-light square mullion windows with sash lights and have paired doorways, all with plain stone surrounds. The walls are roughcast over stone, and there is a rear wing that has been adapted from an old outbuilding. The roof is made of stone slate.
