Description

The Oddfellows, dated 1840, is a two-storey building on a rectangular plan. It is constructed of rendered stone, painted, and stands on the west side of High Street in Idle. The building has a slate roof largely hidden by a parapet. Architectural details include quoin pilasters, a plat band, and a plinth. The symmetrical three-bay front elevation features tripartite sash windows in the outer bays, with glazing bars on the first floor. A large Greek Doric porch has a deep entablature and a parapet balcony above. The south side has a three-storey, parapeted central section that conceals a gable end.
