Description
The mill on the north bank of Hewenden Beck is an early 19th-century structure with attached chimney. It features watershot masonry and a stone slate roof, rising to three storeys with a gable facing the stream. The front has 12 bays of windows, each with lintels and sills, showcasing 9-pane glazing with upper casements. The first bay includes a latrine tower with a semi-circular section, which has doorways accessible by small galleries from each floor. To the right, there is an added bay with an archway at the ground floor. The rear of the mill has 13 bays of similar windows and a semi-circular stair tower located in the sixth bay, featuring a doorway with monolithic jambs. The 12th and 13th bays project outwards and are connected to a tapering chimney that is rectangular in section.
