Description
The North Shelter is a park shelter built in 1870, likely designed by Lockwood and Mawson. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings and features a wooden entrance surround topped with a Welsh blue slate roof. The structure has pilaster strips adorned with carved floral decoration and a moulded cornice. Inside, there are three wooden divisions that replace the original ones but do not match the original design. The roof is hipped. This shelter is part of the model village of Saltaire and is included for its group value.
