Description

Nos 167 to 173 on Wyke Lane are two pairs of cottages, with Nos 167 and 169 dating from around 1800 and Nos 171 and 173 from approximately 1820 to 1830. These cottages project from the building line and are two-storey structures. The earlier pair features irregularly coursed sandstone "bricks," while the later pair has regular coursing. They are topped with stone slate roofs and have corniced chimneys. The eaves are adorned with single and paired dentil brackets. The cottages have two and three-light square mullion windows set in squared surrounds. Nos 171 and 173 each have two windows and a central window above a blocked carriage arch. The doorways have squared jambs.
