Description
No 84 on Main Street in Haworth is a house with a shop that dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed from millstone grit ashlar and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and three windows on the first floor. At the base, there is a plinth, and the ground floor is adorned with four Tuscan pilasters that have panelled bases and capitals. These pilasters support an entablature that frames a central 20th-century glazed door with an overlight and wooden pediment, flanked by 20th-century shop windows that include glazing bars. On the first floor, there are three 20th-century windows that have a narrow, projecting cill band and a lintel band. The entablature is topped with a dentilled cornice, and there are corniced stacks at each end. This building was formerly a druggist shop, which was frequented by Branwell Bronte.
