Description

The former farmhouse located to the south of Rivock Farm is a building that dates back to the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the late 18th century and the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed dressed stone and features ashlar dressings, topped with a stone slate roof and a single stone gable stack. The building has quoins and ashlar coped gables with kneelers and distinctive finials.

This two-storey structure has an external stone staircase on the south side, leading to an upper floor doorway, which is partly obscured by temporary lean-to additions from the 20th century. The original 17th-century doorway is located to the right, featuring a chamfered ashlar surround and a massive lintel. To the left of this doorway, there is a 5-light and a 2-light chamfered mullion window, followed by two late 18th-century doorways with flush ashlar surrounds. Above these features, there is a chamfered first-floor band, and to the right, a former mullion window that is partly collapsed. To the left, there is a 3-light chamfered mullion window, a blocked single-light window, and a 19th-century sash window in a chamfered opening.

The east gable wall includes a single upper floor chamfered window opening, while the rear facade has a small chamfered window opening and a larger opening to the right.
