Description
This is a pair of back-to-back cottages located on Manywells Brow, Bingley, close to Cullingworth Gate. They were likely built in the mid-to-late 18th century. The cottages are constructed of hammer-dressed stone with dressed quoins and have a stone slate roof. The two-storey facades feature flat-faced mullioned windows; originally, these windows probably had four lights to each floor, although they are now two-light wide. A doorway with monolithic jambs is set between the windows. The right-hand gable has coping and kneelers, and there are gable stacks. The rear elevation has some alterations to the ground floor, including inserted doorways, but the first-floor windows retain all their mullions and originally had four lights. The right-hand return gable has a central doorway with monolithic jambs and a single sash window to the left, with a matching window above. The cottages are currently in a dilapidated condition.
