Description
The statue of Sir Robert Peel is located in an exhedra on the south heights of Peel Park. Originally, it stood in Peel Square on Leeds Road but was moved to its current location after the demolition of Kassapian's Warehouse. This statue is notable for being the first public statue in Bradford. It features a cast lead figure of Sir Robert Peel dressed in mid-19th century attire, which is raised on an ashlar monolith drum topped with a cornice. The statue is inscribed with "W Behnes Sculp" and was cast by the Robinson Scott Company of Pimlico.
