Description
This is a terrace of improved workers' houses located on the south side of Constance Street in Saltaire. Completed by 1861, the buildings were designed by Lockwood and Mawson for Titus Salt as part of the Saltaire model village. The houses are constructed from hammer-dressed stone with a Welsh slate roof.
Each house is two storeys and two bays wide, with the end houses projecting slightly and featuring gables. The entrances have fanlights set in stepped reveals, and the ground-floor windows are round-arched and archivolted. First-floor windows are square-headed, although those in the end houses have a triple group arrangement with round-arched lights. A first-floor sill band runs along the terrace, and there are shaped stone brackets to the gutter.
