Description

Nos 2 and 4, Edmund Street are a semi-detached pair of houses dating from approximately 1840 to 1850. They are constructed of sandstone, which appears like brick. The houses feature chamfered quoins, bracketed eaves made of flat wood, and a stone slate roof with corniced chimneys on either side. Each house has two windows. The windows above the doorways and those on the ground floor have architrave surrounds that are slightly battered. Consoles support the window sills. The doorways are paired in the centre and framed by a structure of three Doric pilasters, a deep, plain frieze, and a cornice.
