Description

The stable-coach house, built around 1864, is located to the north-west of Heaton Mount. This two-storey structure is made of sandstone and features shallow wings with two windows each. It has a hipped slate roof with bracketed flat eaves and a central belvedere on the ridge, which includes round-headed lights and a pyramidal roof. The first-floor windows are round-headed and have plain ashlar surrounds. The ground floor has been partly altered for garaging. The stables are positioned further up the hill than the main house, and the belvedere adds a charming Italianate element to the grounds.
