Description

Back Lane Farmhouse, dating from around 1800 to 1810, features some alterations from the mid-19th century. This two-storey building is constructed of sandstone "brick" and has a stone slate roof with corniced chimneys. The windows have squared surrounds and include both 19th-century and modern glazing. There is a squared jamb doorway and similarly styled squared surround windows at the rear. The lower west wing, which was formerly a barn and stables, also has a stone slate roof and a mid-19th century ventilator on the ridge. The farmhouse is included for its group value with the adjoining barn and stable.
