Description
Fulwood Old Chapel is a Unitarian chapel built in 1729, with late 19th century additions and 20th century alterations. The structure is made of coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and features artificial stone slate roofs with a gable stack. It has a plinth, quoins, and coped gables with kneelers. The building is single storey and has a four-window range. In the center, there are two 2-light mullioned windows, above which is a tablet inscribed "Built 1729 in pursuance of the last Will of Mr W Roncksley." Flanking these are single plank doors with stone surrounds and lintels, and further along are additional single 2-light mullioned windows, all featuring chamfered mullions. Below the right window, there is a small cellar light. To the left, there is a set-back 19th century single window addition with a 3-light casement and a 20th century door.
Inside, the chapel has a rendered interior with a flat ceiling. It contains a plain square pulpit and table, a 20th century reading desk and rail, and two memorial tablets.
