Description

Lady's Bridge is a road bridge that spans the River Don. It was originally built in 1485, widened in the late 19th century, and restored in the late 20th century. The bridge is constructed of coursed squared stone, ashlar, and cast iron. It features five round-headed skew arches with cutwaters. On the south-east side, there is a 19th-century lattice girder supported by three cast-iron Doric piers that carry the extension. One of the arches is concealed by adjacent buildings. The bridge is finished with a cast-iron open balustrade that includes a handrail, along with rectangular stone piers topped with low pyramidal caps.
