Description

The building is a dovecote and stable located to the rear of Number 4, approximately 20 metres north of the house. It dates from the late 18th century and has been altered. Constructed from rubble stone and brick, it features a pantile roof and is two storeys high with a single-cell, rectangular layout. The lower part has quoined stonework and a blocked central doorway, which has an inserted board door in a bonded ashlar surround to its left. The upper part is made of brick and has a continuous ledge beneath a central round-arched opening, which contains remnants of wooden pigeon holes in wooden boarding. The roof is hipped with stone ridges. Inside, the upper storey has brick resting holes. The dovecote is included for its group value, while an attached outbuilding on the right is not of special interest.
