Description

These stables with a dovecote above date from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. Constructed of brick in English bond, they have a pantile roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The ground floor has three stable doors with squat arches above, the left-hand door being in an altered opening. The central door has a timber lintel instead of an arch. Above, on the first floor, are pointed openings; the outer openings are slatted and the central one contains pigeon holes. Originally, a small turret dovecote was positioned here. The building is finished with gable coping, and a weather vane topped with a fox is set into the left gable end. Stone steps lead to the hayloft on the right gable end.
