Description

Frog Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with some minor alterations from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick with brick dressings and features a pantile roof with raised brick gables and kneelers. The building has three brick gable chimney stacks and a brick cornice with dentil detailing. It is two storeys high and has an L-plan layout.

The east front of the farmhouse has three windows and a central doorway that features a part-glazed panel door with an overlight. There are single windows with plate glass sashes in their original frames on either side of the door, and above, there are three similar sash windows. The right side of the building has three similar sashes on the ground floor and two sashes above to the right.

At the rear, there is a two-storey lean-to attached to the wing, which includes a single doorway with a four-panel door and a fixed two-light window to the right. Above this, there is a single two-light casement window at the eaves. There is also a single-storey lean-to behind the main range that has a corrugated sheet roof, a single plank door, and to the right, a single two-light sliding sash window with glazing bars. Above this lean-to, on the first floor of the main range, there is another two-light sliding sash window with glazing bars.

Inside, the farmhouse features a fine mid-18th century single flight and return staircase with turned balusters, square newels, and moulded handrails. Most doors are original, each with six raised and fielded panels set in moulded surrounds. One upper floor room has a plain mid-19th century fireplace and to the right, there are large fitted cupboards with panel doors.
