Description
Gunby Hall is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond with stone dressings and has a Welsh slate roof. The building features a central hallway entry and two cross wings at the rear. It stands two storeys tall and has three bays. The entrance includes a four-panel door with a divided overlight, flanked by 16-pane sash windows, all set beneath inserted channelled wedge lintels with fluted keystones. There is a three-course band at the first floor, which also has 16-pane sashes beneath soldier arches. The left quoin steps out at the first-floor level, and there is an eaves band along the roofline. The gable ends are raised and tumbled-in, and there are stacks at each end. Inside, the hall features a closed-string staircase with turned balusters and six-fielded-panel doors.
