SK48NW TREETON FRONT STREET (south-west side) 7/90 The Georgian House GV II

Rectory now private house. Early C19, mid C19 alterations. Deeply-coursed, dressed sandstone; graduated Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys, 4 windows to 1st floor, lean-to addition to right. Part-glazed panelled door to bay 2 has pilastered surround and fanlight with glazing bars beneath open pediment. Other bays with unequally-hung 20-pane sashes with projecting sills and lintels tooled as voussoirs; bay-4 window flanked by small casements with glazing bars. lst-floor windows as ground floor but with 16-pane sashes. Hipped roof with corniced ridge stack to right, end stacks. Lean-to to right with door in square-faced surround, hipped roof. Rear: 3-bay garden front of later date, French window, band beneath 4-pane sashes, eaves cornice. Interior: unspoilt entrance hall with attractive staircase. Early and mid-C19 fireplaces in ground-floor rooms to rear.
