Description
The range of farm buildings at Hall Farm, located approximately 25 metres west of the farmhouse, is a combination of structures that includes cowhouses, shelter sheds, cartsheds, and barns. The early 18th-century barn is incorporated into an early 19th-century range. The buildings are constructed of ashlar and rubble limestone, featuring stone slate eaves courses beneath pantile roofs.
This single-storey E-shaped range encloses two fold yards on the west side and has a cartshed arcade on the east side that connects to the end gable of an earlier range of buildings to the north. The north side of each fold yard features an arcade with six segmental arches supported by cylindrical piers and square abaci. Square-headed doors and slatted casements are present on the other sides. The roofs are hipped.
The cartshed arcade on the east side has brick spandrels and fourteen similar arches, with the ninth bay containing boarded doors and the end bay on the right forming a passage to the rear. The earlier two-storey range to the north consists of two builds, showcasing quoins and some triangular vents. The south side has large arched openings, additional doors, slatted windows, and first-floor hatches. There are external steps leading to a door at the west end.
