5/76 Barn approximately 20 metres to north-east of Wellingley Grange Farmhouse

GV II

Barn. Probably late C18, altered C19. Coursed rubble magnesian limestone, stone slate eaves course to pantile roof. 2 storeys, 8-9 bays. Large waggon entrance to left of centre has segmental brick arch beneath boarded hatch. 3 slit vents set in vertical line on left; altered ground-floor openings on right beneath 2 hatch openings with segmental brick arches (that on left enlarged into a doorway). Hipped roof. Right return: rebuilt in C19 brickwork. Interior: pattern-book king-post trusses. Included for group value.
