Description

The stone cross at the corner of Willingley Lane is a medieval structure made of ashlar. It stands three feet high with a chamfered column and is set on a stone slab plinth. Traditionally known as the Butter Cross, it was originally located in the Market Place and was moved in 1777 when the current Market Cross was constructed.
