Description
A pair of concrete silos at Wilsic Lodge Farm, built in the 1920s, are made of reinforced concrete. These freestanding cylindrical silos feature integral ladder turrets, and the northern silo has an embattled parapet. They are a rare and early example of concrete use in 20th-century farm buildings. These silos played a significant role in the production of silage, which became a major part of the farm economy starting in the 1940s. They are shown on Ordnance Survey maps as predating 1930.
