Description
The entrance gateway to Wilsic Hall School, likely built around 1750 for Sir Francis Tofield, is constructed from coursed, squared magnesian limestone with ashlar copings and main piers. The main piers feature moulded plinths, monolithic square shafts, cornices, and moulded bases supporting truncated obelisk finials. The walling includes plain ashlar copings, and the surviving end pier is square with a domed cap. This gateway serves as the principal entrance to Wilsic Hall, located in the parish of Stainton.
