Description
The shelter shed and attached loose box at Fenwick Hall date from around 1800. This L-shaped, single-story structure is made of red brick and features a pantile roof with a stone slate eaves course. It forms the southeast side of the farmyard and encloses a fold yard. The loose box has two doorways with segmental arches, while the open-fronted shelter shed on the right is supported by square stone monolithic piers with plinths and padstones, along with a brick pier that creates a partition wall between the third and fourth bays. The return section at the front right matches the style and has a brick partition to the right-hand bay and a hipped end to the roof, which is lower than that of the loose box. Inside, there are feeding racks in each part and a feeding trough against the rear wall of the shelter shed. This building is included for its group value.
