Description
This is a graveslab located approximately 5 metres south of the porch of the Church of All Saints in Darton, dating from the early to mid 18th century. It is made of plain sandstone and features simple line decoration along the edge, with an arched top. The slab commemorates Richard Milns of Bargh, who died on 9th April 1719 (with a space left for his age), and David Milns of Bargh, a yeoman, who died on 26th March 1733 at the age of 31. Additionally, it notes Elizabeth, the wife of Richard Milns, who passed away on 27th January 1727, as well as William, the son of George and Mary Hobson of Machan Bank, who died in 1732, and David Milns of Higham, who died in 1825.
