Description
No 9 Regent Street is a council office building dating from around 1880, constructed of ashlar with a Welsh slate roof in a classical style. The building has three storeys and features five bays facing Royal Street, along with a rounded corner bay and four bays along Regent Street. The entrance is located in the corner bay and includes a fanlight, pilaster jambs, and a cornice supported by shaped, enriched brackets, leading to a double panelled door. There is another entrance in the fourth bay of the Regent Street facade, which is round-arched with spandrel treatment, a small cornice, and a door from around 1970. All windows are square-headed sashes with moulded architraves, with the ground floor windows being slightly taller. The building has cornices between the floors, a moulded eaves cornice, and a deep panelled parapet. It is included for its group value.
