Description
This is a 17th-century farm building located approximately 10 metres east of Saville Hall. It is constructed of coursed squared rubble with quoins and has a stone slate roof. The building has a T-shape plan and is two storeys high, with around four internal bays. The front is partially obscured at ground-floor level by a later lean-to addition.
On the first floor, there are two 2-light double-chamfered windows, although the mullions have been removed. Additionally, there are round-arched ventilation slits. The gable copings are hollow-chamfered and sit on moulded kneelers. At the rear, there is a near-central wing that features two small ground-floor openings, one of which is arched, along with a 2-light double-chamfered window at the first floor and gable apex, where the mullions have also been removed.
There is a part-blocked first-floor arched doorway on the right return of the wings. To the right of this wing, there is a small, blocked, double-arched opening at ground floor and another 2-light double-chamfered window at the first floor, with the mullion removed. On the left return, there are Tudor-arched quoined doorways on each floor. The interior has not been inspected.
