Description
The Pollard graveslab, located approximately 30 metres west of the south porch of the Church of All Saints, dates from around 1716. It is made of sandstone and features a decorative surround with a scroll at the bottom. The slab includes relief carvings of an hourglass in each top corner and rounded relief decorations of vines. It commemorates Grace, the wife of George Pollard, who passed away on December 18th, 1716, at the age of 70. Grace was the daughter of Richard Smethurst, the Minister at Darton.
