Description
This summer house, located approximately 150 metres west of Haigh Hall, was likely built in the 1770s by landscape gardener Richard Woods. It features red brick construction with a stone slate roof. The front has a tall central round-arched doorway flanked by narrow lights, all set within a round-arched recess. Both arches have archivolting and are accented by a three-course brick band. The open gable pediment is similarly detailed with brick banding, and the gable is capped with stone coping. Inside, the space is domed and semi-circular in plan, with a plain storage room at the rear. There is a later addition on the right side.
