Description

A range of barns and stabling forming an L-shape, dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. The building is constructed of thinly-coursed rubble with a stone slate roof. It has a plan consisting of an L-shape. The two-storey front elevation features two large, segmental-headed cart entries on the left side, set within quoined jambs. To the right are three smaller quoined entrances, two of which have slightly-cambered heads. Two square pitching-holes are visible high on the elevation. Where the range returns at a 90-degree angle on the left, there is a quoined entrance and a single-light window. The roof is hipped at the right end. The rear of the main range has two opposed cart entries with quoined surrounds. Later window openings have been added. A symmetrical arrangement of round-arched ventilation loops is present on the rear. Inside, the building has slender queen-post roof trusses.
