Description
Nook Farmhouse is a former farmhouse, now disused, dating back to the 17th century with an 19th-century addition at the rear. The construction is of thinly-coursed rubble with a stone slate roof. The farmhouse has two storeys and originally comprised three bays, with a rear addition. It features quoins. Most of the windows are double-chamfered and have been bricked up. The central window originally had four lights, but two mullions have been removed. There are two two-light windows; the one to the left has a removed mullion, while the one to the right is now a doorway. All the ground-floor openings are united by a common hoodmould. The first floor has a three-light and a two-light window, both with one mullion removed. The left gable has hollow-chamfered coping with a decorated kneeler. An ashlar stack is on the left gable, which also has a two-light window to each floor. The right gable includes a first-floor doorway with a cambered lintel and a two-light window to the right. A 90-degree addition from the 19th century is present at the rear, featuring a five-light, flat-faced mullion window to the first floor on its left side. The interior was not inspected. The farmhouse was unoccupied at the time of resurvey.
