Description
The cartshed at Beech House Farm, located approximately 50 metres east of the farmhouse, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed, squared, and dressed sandstone, topped with a sheet asbestos roof. The structure is two storeys high and consists of five bays, featuring a lean-to at the downhill end.
The front has an asymmetrical arcade with five basket-arched openings. On the left side, there are three arches supported by chamfered rectangular-section piers, built up in two stones, with skewback springers above; the two arches on the left are deformed. To the right, there is a wallstone pier, beyond which are two additional arches on a central quoined pier, with the left opening rebated. Above each arch, there are square openings with flush sills and plain lintels, and three of these openings still retain their casements. The attached farm buildings are not of special interest.
