CAWTHORNE BARK HOUSE LANE (north end, off) East-west range attached at 90 degrees to south end of former coach house at Cannon Hall

GV II

Range, formerly houses, now storage. Probably 1760s for John Spencer Stanhope of Cannon Hall. Possibly by John Carr (architect of hall q.v.). Red brick with ashlar dressings, stone slate roof. Forms south range of a courtyard. Two storeys. An ordered arrangement of 6 bays with a further two bays to right. Three doorways with moulded jambs, that to centre with raised keystone and cornice, all with panelled doors and overlights. Three Twelve-pane ground-floor sashes. Shallow-arched carriageway to right. Six twenty-pane sashes to first floor and a further two later or altered lights to right. Three altered ridge stacks and two ashlar end stacks.
