Description

The building is an east-west range that is attached at a 90-degree angle to the south end of the former coach house at Cannon Hall. It was likely built in the 1760s for John Spencer Stanhope of Cannon Hall, and it may have been designed by the architect John Carr, who also designed the hall. The structure is made of red brick with ashlar dressings and features a stone slate roof. It forms the south range of a courtyard and stands two storeys tall.

The building has an organized arrangement of six bays, with an additional two bays to the right. There are three doorways with moulded jambs, the central one featuring a raised keystone and cornice, all equipped with panelled doors and overlights. The ground floor has three twelve-pane sash windows, while the first floor includes six twenty-pane sashes and two later or altered lights to the right. There is a shallow-arched carriageway to the right, along with three altered ridge stacks and two ashlar end stacks.
