Description

This raised grave slab, dating from around 1741, is located approximately 3 metres south of the south door of the south chapel of the Church of All Saints. It is made of sandstone and features a moulded edge that continues to form an arch at the top. The slab commemorates Christopher, the son of John and Elizabeth Swift of Waterslack, who died on 5th December 1741 at the age of 6 years. It also honors Catherine, their daughter, who died in 1778 at the age of 23; Joseph, their son, who died in 1779 at the age of 31; John Swift, who died on 30th April 1778 at the age of 76; Elizabeth Swift, who died on 2nd June 1806 at the age of 90; and George Swift, their son, who died on 28th April 1821 at the age of 69.
