Description

Roxby Farmhouse is an early 19th-century house located on the north side of Main Street, Elvington. It is constructed of pinkish-brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a Welsh slate roof. The house follows a central hallway plan with a range extending to the rear. It is two storeys high and has three bays. The central entrance is defined by a 6-fielded-panel door with a multi-paned overlight, set within a doorcase featuring pilasters, a frieze, and a hood. All windows are 18-pane sashes with ashlar sills and wedge lintels. The roof is hipped, and the house has end stacks.
