Description
The carthouse and stables at The Grange were built in the mid to late 18th century and have seen later additions and alterations, including a range to the left. The structure is made of pinkish-orange brick with red rubbed brick dressings and features a pantile roof. It is two stories tall with a three-bay slightly projecting center, flanked by single-story, single-bay wings, and three additional bays to the left. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door. The window openings retain remnants of casement windows and 12-pane sliding sashes, with those on the ground floor and wings set under flat arches of red rubbed brick. The addition includes a carriage entrance with double doors and an elliptical archway, with a window situated between. There is a modillion eaves band, a hipped roof over the center, and ridge stacks. The building was disused at the time of resurvey.
