Description

No. 14 Low Ousegate is a house with a shop, built between 1810 and 1820, and later altered, with a 20th-century shopfront. The house is constructed of orange brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a moulded stone eaves cornice that returns at the right end, and has a slate hipped roof with brick stacks. The front has three storeys and two windows. The shopfront has a central door with an overlight, flanked by plate glass windows, pilasters, and a fascia board. The first-floor windows are eight-pane sashes, the second-floor windows are twelve-pane sashes, and the third-floor windows are squat twelve-pane sashes. All windows have painted sills and flat arches constructed of gauged brick. The interior was not inspected.
