Description

The Church of St Giles is a church that dates back to the 12th century and has undergone significant alterations, including a chancel added in 1889 and 20th-century additions such as a west porch. It is constructed from magnesian limestone ashlar, with some areas rendered and colourwashed, and features a Welsh slate roof. The structure includes a west porch, nave, and chancel that are unified, along with 20th-century parish rooms and an outshut on the north side.

The porch houses a 12th-century doorway with a chamfered surround and a single nook shaft with scalloped capitals that support an arch with ball moulding. A 12th-century bell-turret is present, featuring twin round-arched openings. On the south side of the nave and chancel, there is a buttress with offsets. The windows are mainly single round-headed types in chamfered surrounds, with those in the nave set under recut hood-moulds; the westernmost window has single nook shafts supporting a roll moulding. Additionally, there is one slit window. On the north side, there are two similar round-headed windows, but most are obscured by the outshut and parish rooms. The east end is believed to be a 12th-century structure that was reconstructed at the end of the 19th century, featuring a group of three stepped round-arched windows in a chamfered surround under a hood-mould.

Inside, the east window features glass by Kempe, dating to around 1889.
