Description
No 4 Main Street is an 18th-century house that has undergone some alterations in the 19th century. It is constructed of pinkish-brown brick with red brick dressings and features a Welsh slate roof. The house has a central staircase plan and stands two storeys tall with three bays. The red brick quoins frame the central entrance, which consists of a six-panel door topped by a radial fanlight, all set within a panelled surround and a doorcase supported by Roman Doric columns, which also holds a frieze and hood. The windows are four-pane sashes, all set in flush wood architraves and beneath cambered heads. There are remnants of a red brick band on the first floor, and the house has end stacks. This building is included for its group value.
