Description

No. 4 Spurriergate is a house with a shop, built around 1841 and later altered, including a 20th-century shopfront. The building is made of pink-brown mottled brick in Flemish bond, featuring a timber eaves band and modillion cornice, with a brick stack and slate roof.

The exterior has a four-storey, one-window front. The shopfront includes sunk panel pilasters and a plain cornice supported by grooved scrolled consoles. The first and second floor windows are 16-pane sashes, while the third floor has an unequal 12-pane sash. The windows on the second and third floors have painted sills and are topped with slightly cambered arches made of gauged brick. There is a fluted bowl rainwater head on the left side. The interior has not been inspected.
