Description
No. 13 High Petergate is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the early 19th century, featuring a late 19th-century shopfront and some 20th-century alterations and extensions. The building is constructed of painted brick in Flemish bond and has a slate roof with a flat-topped dormer that contains a 2-light window.
The exterior consists of three storeys and an attic, with a one-bay front. The shop window is framed by plain pilasters, has moulded imposts, and a flat cornice. To the left of the shop window, there is a glazed and sunk-panel door with an overlight, which is recessed. Above this, there is a 2-light plate glass window over a sunk-panel riser. The first and second floors feature 12-pane sash windows, with the second-floor windows being shorter, all having painted stone sills and flat arches.
The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value as part of this important historic street.
