Description
95 Low Petergate is a former house, now a shop, dating from the early 18th century, with significant alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries, including a 20th-century shopfront. The building is constructed of painted orange brick in Flemish bond, featuring timber boxed guttering supported by iron brackets. It has a pantile roof with a truncated brick stack and a gabled dormer that includes a tiled roof and a 2x6-pane casement window.
The exterior consists of three storeys and an attic, with a two-window front. The shopfront features a glazed door situated between plate glass windows and is topped by a prominent cornice on shaped brackets. To the right, there is a passage door with six sunk panels set in a round-arched opening. The first-floor windows are shallow canted bays with 8:12:8-pane sash windows and moulded dentilled cornices. On the second floor, there are three 12-pane sash windows and two 2x3-pane casements, all with painted moulded sills. A raised band at the first floor is interrupted by the inserted shopfront.
Inside, the first-floor front rooms still display bolection moulded panelling in two heights along with moulded cornices.
