Description
No. 10 Church Street is a house with a shop, built between 1836 and 1839, featuring a 20th-century shopfront. The building is constructed of pink-grey brick in Flemish bond and is rendered on both returns. It has a timber eaves cornice and a slate roof, with a brick stack at the right end.
The exterior is four storeys high with a two-window front. The shopfront is framed by plain pilasters beneath a deep fascia and a slight moulded cornice. There is an off-centre glazed and panelled door situated between plate glass windows that rest on beaded panel risers. The upper floor windows are 12-pane sashes with cambered brick arches. The first and second floor windows have painted stone sills, while the third floor windows sit over a raised sill band and are shorter than those below. Additionally, a small window has been inserted to the left of the second floor. A bold moulded cornice supported by shaped brackets features an octagonal bowl rainwater head at the left end. The interior has not been inspected.
