Description
This is a house located at 1 Little Shambles in York, dating from the 15th century and restored around 1950. The building features a timber-framed structure, with the ground floor encased in orange-red brick laid in English garden-wall bond, and the upper floors rendered. The upper floors have exposed framing and a crown post roof truss visible in the gable end. There is a half-glazed shop door situated between jowled posts to the left of a wide shop window that has small-pane glazing. The upper floor windows are 2x6-pane casements. On the right side, the framing is exposed on all floors, featuring 1- and 2-light 6-pane casement windows on each level. The interior has not been inspected.
